Today was wacky. Let's see if I can remember. I got to the pot and tinkled a bit. Then pretty much passed out. A few smelling salts later I was back in bed.
Then I was planning on resting some. Brenda had come as had Penny and Carol, but it was non-visiting hours and Brian had just left when BAM! I was up to my bellybutton in freezing cold water. The cell that circulates pumped ice water under me was all folded up under one cheeck and burst when it turned on. I immediately called for help, but I was hard to understand as my breath had been taken from me.
Finally someone came and I had to get up, which is an event, so that my whole bed could be changed.
Once that was over, I had gotten kinda upset. The feelings of helplessness and being trapped and reliant were getting to me.
Finally, I was in so much pain with my bladder, I was determined to get going, and did! It really turned the day around. I have gone a few times more, and feel much stronger getting up and down. It is very difficult, and wears me out, but is feeling good that I'm getting stronger.
As for other things, my leg hair is growing in, and making my leg squeezing clot preventers even more uncomfortable.
And the food is great.
And I can sleep on my side.
And I still don't have a roommate, which rules.
And I have the most best husband in the whole world.
Keep the comments coming, it helps me remember there is life outside of 484B.
I am sorry if you were waiting to hear back from me today, it was mostly bad and just good in the last few hours.
I'm doing well with short visits, but not doing too hot coordinating them. Just come on 'round.

Yikes! That's crazy. If only I stayed a bit longer...Btw, I'm sure you could ask the nurses to shave your legs.
ReplyDeleteHope tomorrow is full of lots more ups!!!! Your "cold shower" sounds like a story you may laugh about in a couple of days. Sleep well tonight and enjoy your trips to the potty. You sound awesome and I love reading about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteLove,
AJ
The "Best Husband" bit is a lie. I forgot the frozen yogurt that I was supposed to bring tonight...I deserve to be fired.
ReplyDeleteHave Brian read you my post about the worst bedmate....It still makes me giggle.....Love you.....
